Best Apps for Tracking Craft Inventory

We recommend Sortly as a practical starting point for tracking craft inventory because it is a general inventory app that can help you organize supplies without building a system from scratch. It may be a good fit if you want to keep yarn, fabric, beads, paint, or other materials in one place and see what you have before buying more.

The best choice depends on how you craft: a hobbyist may need a simple record of supplies, while someone selling handmade goods may need an inventory system designed around a business. In our guide to tracking craft inventory, we suggest starting with the details you actually use, such as material type, quantity, color, and storage location.

If you sell your work, Craftybase is a craft-focused option worth considering because it is intended for handmade businesses rather than general household inventory. It may suit you better than a general app if keeping track of materials and products is part of your regular business routine.

If you mainly craft for relaxation, that business-oriented approach may be more than you need, and a general inventory app or spreadsheet can be easier to maintain. Choose a system you are willing to update whenever you buy supplies, finish a project, or use up a material.
